The Bethesda United Methodist Church and The Bethesda Child Development Center
Monday, September 06, 2010
We are a community focused downtown church in a growing area. We celebrate and encourage inclusive and active ministry and discipleship as we gather together each Sunday.
Sunday School at Bethesda Bethesda offers Sunday School for children ages 18 months through 18 years during our weekly Sunday morning worship service (9:30 am) . The children begin worship with their parents, and leave at the designated time with Sunday School teachers. Our classes follow the Safe Sanctuaries protocol set forth by the United Methodist Church, and background checks are performed on all volunteers directly involved with children.
The curriculum we use, Seasons of the Spirit, focuses on the arts.Children learn about and experience God's love through drama, song, artwork, prayer, Bible stories and crafts. This curriculum is based on weekly scripture readings parents hear in church, but communicates on a level appropriate for the child's age. We also offer a class just for youth, beginning at age 11.The youth class is currently doing a 6 week study, using 3 Simple Rules, 24/7. This study teaches the kids 3 simple rules that will give them the power to change their lives!
We do require that all children who attend Sunday school register for the program. The registration form can be accessed via the following link:cepheus.websrvcs.com/clientimages/43433/churchschoolregistration2.pdf
